the General Directorate of State Security seized as a result 198 illegal receivers
Due to the increasing television broadcasting piracy crimes, and based on the decision of the competent judiciary, a patrol from the General Directorate of State Security accompanied with a technical team detected some suspicious sites and institutions in Anjar, Taalbaiya, Saadnayel and Qabb Elias in Beqaa. It seized as a result 198 illegal receivers used for satellite channels belonging exclusively to “Sama” and “Right & Rights” Companies and arrested the Lebanese (AA.S.), (D.B.), (N.J), (M.Ch.) and the Syrians (Ch.AA.) and (M.K.).
Upon the reference of the Appeal Public Prosecutor in Beqaa, the suspects were released to settle their legal status, and pledged not to sell, install or operate these devices again.
